EMEC-301 OSHA/DOT Hazmat Training Required for All Petroleum Products Drivers
|
| Federal law (49 CFR 172.704 and 29 CFR
1910-120) requires all your Hazmat drivers to undergo Hazmat training at
either the awareness or operations level. DOT auditors can impose fines of
up to $100,000 for noncompliance. DOT training covers the transportation
of hazardous materials. OSHA training covers how employees may respond to
spills (awareness – defensive only; operations – dam/dike/divert). Also
covered will be new proposed hours of service changes, and the DOT’s
Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) that tracks your company’s and your
drivers’ records. This Spring only operations recertification will be
offered which means you must already be operations certified to obtain
this recertification. A full certification course will be offered in the
Fall. |
