Successful testing certifies to EPA regulations as authorized under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.  Upon successful test completion, students will receive a certificate of completion and a wallet card indicating certification approval.  We offer 608 certification classes as follows, and per the schedule as set out below. • Type I is for technicians who primarily service household appliances with less than 5 pounds of refrigerant including refrigerators, room air conditioners, packaged terminal heat pumps, vending machines, and drinking water coolers.

• Type II is for technicians who install and service systems that use a high pressure refrigerant such as HCFC 22 including split system air conditioners.

• Type III is for technicians who install and service systems that use a low pressure refrigerant such as CFC 11

• Type IV is a universal certification for work on all systems including the first three types.
