ANN
WARD FEATURED IN NEW ICPA CSR MANAGEMENT BLOG AND JOINS
WITH ITEC TO CREATE NEW HVAC TECH PROFESSIONALISM CLASS
|
| |
|
ICPA is
pleased to announce that
Ms. Ann Ward of Ward
Certified Consulting, LLC
is joining with ICPA in creating a new online blog for the use
of customer service managers across our industry in
Connecticut. Ann provides consulting services across our
industry in this region and we work with Ann on many projects,
the latest being two efforts that focus on two parts of our
industry;
-
Ann is
working with ITEC on creating a new, 36 hour introductory
module to all our S, B & D HVAC programs with a
concentration on
Professionalism and
Customer Relations
for Energy Conservation Technicians [HVAC techs]. Every tech
who goes through our school will be first equipped with a
strong set of skills for understanding the professional role
of the tech in our industry, the credibility of the tech in
the eyes of the customer, and customer relations and
communications skills. HVAC work isn't just about using
standard tools and hardware anymore. See the chart below.
Connecticut consumers view our service techs as having the
second-highest degree of credibility on energy issues of any
other source except a consumer advocacy group. We're
going to equip a tech with some basic professional skills to
make sure we take maximum advantage of that standing with
the general public.

-
The
second project is the
ICPA/CSR Management
blog.
Management of customer service representatives is a tough
job, as is being a CSR itself. Ann Ward provides ICPA with
professional consulting services aimed at training CSR
Managers and CSRs on the skills that better enable to do
their respective jobs and survive it. Ann's programs
are always well-attended and enthusiastically received. ICPA
is taking the next step and providing Ann with a web blog
inside the Member's Only section of the ICPA website.
This way, anyone with issues can consult with Ann right
online. Getting there is easy, follow these directions:
[1] go to www.icpa.org
[2] go to the Members Only section button and enter the MO
section, [3] see the menu on the left hand side - at the
bottom is a button ICPA BLOG - just click on that and
register for permission to join the blog. You'll receive
notice when you can enter and then you're on your way!

ITEC
President Gene Guilford is pleased to announce that ITEC and
green building professional instructors at
CleanEdison Company
have agreed to bring a host of new green energy technology
training to Connecticut. Under the agreement,
CleanEdison
will work exclusively with and through ITEC for the delivery
of BPI/Building Analyst training and all associated subgroup
classes to the BPI training, Geothermal and a variety of
other green energy building standard training.
At ICPA's
June, 2009 59th Annual Meeting we rolled out an entire
vision of the transformation of the heating oil industry.
Part of that vision is the transformation of the service
department to enable it to become the energy conservation
department - and providing the training so that our existing
HVAC techs can broaden their work in the home as we are
uniquely situated to view the whole home as an energy unit.
CleanEdison
is a national company with a tremendous reputation for
delivering the highest quality training and the partnership
with ITEC exclusively in Connecticut will enable two
terrific training institutions to work together for
marketers and the general public in our state.
BPI’s
Building Analyst 1 Training, as delivered by CleanEdison,
will give your technicians the knowledge they need to
perform a whole home energy audit. Learn the relationship
between all the systems in the house and the effects on
health, safety, comfort and efficiency. The whole house is
a system, learn how it all works together and how flaws in
one part can compromise performance throughout. Learn
building science fundamentals, energy conservation
strategies, heat loss calculations, duct testing and
sealing, blower door testing, etc. Find the root cause of a
problem and give them solutions that work! Your technicians
already know the HVAC system now they can learn about the
whole house as a system. 5 days of intensive training
and testing.
